Help My Mom Fight Stage 4 Lung Cancer
Hi, my name is Viktoriia, and I’m raising funds for my amazing mom, Larysa.
She is 60 years old and she has dedicated her entire life to helping others — she worked as a pediatrician in Ukraine for over 30 years. She spent her life to saving others - now she's the one who needs saving, and I am turning to the kindness of strangers to help save her life!
In January 2024, my mom was diagnosed with adenosquamous carcinoma of the lung, Stage IV, with multiple brain metastases. It was devastating. But she is a fighter!
She went through radiation therapy, and — miraculously — the metastases in her brain are now gone. This was only possible thanks to targeted therapy, specifically a medication called Alectinib, which she must take daily to stay alive.
Alectinib costs $2,200 per month. $2,200 — that’s the price of one month of my mother’s life. It’s devastating to even write this.
We’ve been covering this cost ourselves for over a year, but now we have run out of resources. Without this medication, my mom will die. But with it — she has a real chance to live for many more years. Her latest scans show no disease progression. She’s holding on! She wants to live!
And she’s doing all of this while living in Ukraine, under daily threat of missile attacks and war. We are literally fighting for life on every front.
Our Goal: $26,400
This is the cost of 12 months of life-saving treatment with Alectinib.
To be fully transparent:
➡️ GoFundMe does not support direct withdrawals to Ukraine, which is why funds raised here will be received by a close and trusted family friend who lives in the United States.
➡️ That friend will securely transfer 100% of the funds directly to our family in Ukraine to purchase the medication.
This is the safest and most reliable way for us to access the funds during wartime conditions.
If you can help — even with a small donation — we would be forever grateful!
And if you can’t donate, please consider sharing this campaign. That, too, can save a life.
We believe in miracles — and today, you can be that miracle!
With love and hope from Ukraine,
Viktoriia
