Help The Proper Cup purchase supplies
Donation protected
Hi folks,
Last month we made the tough decision to shutter our shop and furlough our employees to minimize the spread of COVID-19. Since then we have missed our neighbors and community so much!
We have done a lot of work behind the scenes to earn money to keep the shop afloat. We have done home delivery, pop-ups, and sold off stock. I have personally taken a temporary job at Whole Foods. If a person in a pink hat enthusiastically waived at you that was definitely me!
Thanks to these efforts and the funding we received from the Paycheck Protection Program we currently have the ability to pay our rent and pay our employees their full salary for the next 2 months!
However, we will need funding to purchase supplies and inventory for when we reopen. Our shop has always worked with other small local businesses, which is where the majority of this money will be disbursed. The money raised will help keep The Proper Cup afloat and go to support businesses around Portland and New Hampshire such as:
Flight Coffee - Bedford, NH
NOBL Coffee - Seabrook, NH
Standard Baking Co - Portland
Norimoto - Portland
Hi Bar Bakery - Portland
Hifi Donuts - Portland
C.love Cookie Co - Portland
Bam Bam Bakery - Portland
The Purple Whisk - Westbrook
We are asking the community for support to raise funds to purchase supplies. We are unsure how long the business will be closed to the public, but we would like to aim to raise these funds in the next 2 weeks as we are currently exploring contactless take-out options which we hope to launch by the beginning of May!
We would appreciate any support you're able to give. We can't wait to be back together as a team and be behind the counter serving up caffeine and smiles to y'all!
love and warm wishes,
Rachel
P.S. We understand that these are tough economic times for everyone. Please, please, please consider your personal financial needs before donating to our cause. We want you to be well!
