Hi, my name is Laurie and those of you who know me know that I have a passion for rescuing dogs. In October the small rescue I volunteer for was contacted about a very pregnant pitbull mix who was living on a chain in the dirt. The owners were willing to give her up and we took Ivy and her 9 puppies into foster care. The puppies are now 3 1/2 months old and all have found wonderful forever homes but unfortunately Ivy has not. After the puppies were weaned Ivy started displaying some difficult behaviors and although her foster's worked diligently with her they were unable to get her to the point where she could be safely adopted out. We had Ivy evaluated and it was recommended that she get extensive training or be euthanized. Because Ivy has many endearing qualities we just couldn't imagine having to put her down, we want to give Ivy a chance! However, our rescue is very small and doesn't have the resources at this time to train and care for a dog with the special needs Ivy has so we found a rescue that does. Miranda's Rescue is a sanctuary in Northern California that works with dogs that have behavior issues and they are willing to take Ivy so we can save her life! The fee for surrendering her to Miranda's rescue is $1500 and we need to raise the money quickly so we can have her transported there. Won't you please consider helping us save Ivy? No amount is too small, every dollar counts!
