From Hurricane Devastation to Hope — Let’s Rebuild Together.”
Hi, my name is Geneive Gayle, I reside in Toronto, Ontario, and I am fundraising for my Uncle Len Baker.
My uncle, Len Baker, is a retired man living in Lower Brighton, St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. After years of hard work, he finally built a small, comfortable one-bedroom home with a kitchen and bathroom.
He spent his retirement enjoying farming and living a simple, peaceful life.
On October 28, 2025, Hurricane Melissa made landfall in Jamaica and devastated hundreds of thousands of lives — including my uncle’s. His home was severely damaged, leaving him homeless and without the necessities he once had.
During the storm, he sought temporary shelter in a neighbor’s home along with others in the community. That arrangement was never meant to be long-term. He has since returned to his house, which is now barely livable. He is currently sleeping on boards, under a tarpaulin stretched over what remains of his roof, with no bed, no furniture, and no secure shelter.
Despite everything he has lost, he remains grateful for life — and for kind-hearted people like you who are willing to help him start again.
Your donations will help purchase:
• Roofing materials to replace the damaged roof
• Windows and doors for safety and protection
• Essential furniture to restore basic living conditions
This situation is urgent. My uncle deserves a safe place to sleep, to cook, to rest — to live. Any amount you can give will help him rebuild his home and regain stability after this devastating disaster.
As we rebuild, we are committed to helping others in the community as well. Each one helps one — love shared is love multiplied.
Thank you for your compassion, kindness, and support. Every share, prayer, and donation helps more than you know.
Geneive Gayle (Niece)
