A Little About Me
Hi everyone! My name is Briana and I am a recent college graduate at St. John's University. I received my Bachelor of Science in Education and graduated with a 3.40 GPA. During my time at St. John's, I was a member of the highest honor society at the university, The President's Society . I have volunteered countless hours of service at shelters New York City area and on campus including Midnight Run, St. Nick's Men's Shelters, Dribble for the Cure, basketball clinics for disabled children and various soup kitchens. I volunteered as a Student-Athlete mentor at my university to aid incoming freshman student-athletes and transfers in learning how to handle situations such as substance abuse, college work loads, peer pressure, mild racial/class issues, and any other experiences college and/or life may throw their ways. I also coach them on leadership and used team building exercises to help them become active leaders within their communities. I have accomplished all of the latter while playing for the St. John's Women's Basketball team. Giving back is something that is extremely important to me.
My Goal
I am currently enrolling in graduate school in the fall at Durham University in London, England. I am seeking to get my Master's in Business Management. I will be playing basketball for the University as well as helping the head coach with their junior basketball team. I want to use this degree not only to be able to have a chance support my family, but to one day start a fund for youths who aspire to go to college and are not financially capable. I am trying to raise money to cover my tuition and living expenses as I would be living in London until I finish my degree. Unfortunately, the British pound is about 50+ cents more than the U.S. dollar so living there would be more costly.
As a recent college graduate I am trying to make ends meet when it comes to paying for my tuition and just living expenses alone. I've been working 1-2 jobs since I have graduated to try and pay for everything, but it is just not enough. Please donate, absolutely ANYTHING helps! Opportunities like this do not come around often such as this has and it would be unfortunate if I couldn't take it because of the lack of funds. Please help me reach my goal.
Thank you!
