Hi my name is Michele and Ive started a funraiser to help my dear friends Tammy and her best friend Leroy. The beginning of Leroy's life was filled with years of abuse/neglect, he was nearly starved to death and heartworm positive , and he still managed to put his trust in humans to help him. three years ago during one of the worst times in healthcare, my friend Tammy an ER nurse adopted Leroy, he quickly became her best friend, A few short weeks later he was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma, there was no doubt he wouldn't give up, instead he brought an entire community together. Your heart melts, and any fear you had of big dogs dissappear when you meet Leroy. The last few weeks have been extremely difficult for both Leroy and Tammy. He became septic because of a tooth infection that was misdiagnosed, and he was nearly euthanized by that doc. Two weeks of medications, iv fluids, and he rallied again. A week later, Leroy became ill again, losing control of his bladder. He has been diagnosed with caudi equine compression. Leroy is not a candidate for surgery. He has fought so hard and is nowhere near done. This boy needs epidural, acupuncture, and physical therapy to give him a chance. The bills are pilling up, but neither of them will give up.
