Mission Trip To Thessaloniki, Greece!

Hey everyone!

My name is David Hopkins II and I wanted to create this page because after much consideration and prayer, I have made the decision to go on a mission trip this Fall along with a team of awesome young adults to the college town of Thessaloniki, Greece. If Thessaloniki sounds familiar, it is indeed the same city the Apostle Paul and Silas visited on their 2nd Missionary Trip across the Mediterranean Sea and who Paul addressed 1st and 2nd Thessalonians in the New Testament!

Despite growing up with numerous medical issues, many of which I still deal with in the present, God has graciously provided the opportunity for me to go on my first missions trip to this historically important city and I couldn't be more grateful. The trip is to occur this Fall from November 7th to November 15th!

What are we going to do in Thessaloniki?

Peter and Courtney Good are the lead pastors of Zoe Church, located in the heart of Thessaloniki, Greece + its universities where the majority of our missions trip will be focused. We will be bringing the Gospel to the students in the various schools and communities, helping/serving Zoe Church throughout the week, and ministering to victims/survivors of human trafficking and Greek Refugees through Zoe Church's A21 Campaign. In March 2024, Peter visited Kingsway to provide an update on the work being done in Greece. He mentioned how one his most pressing prayers was for God to raise up local Greek church leaders and pastors to plant more churches within the whole of Greece as well as more missionaries from outside Greece to help support the ministry happening there. This update became the main motivation for this trip and what initially inspired me to decide to join!

How can you help?

1st and foremost, please be praying for the team and I as we prepare our hearts, our supplies, and our travel accommodations. Pray that we will rely on God throughout all aspects of this trip as we lean on His Wisdom, His Understanding, and His Protection. Pray that God blesses our team with strength and faith to endure any and all difficulties we are sure to encounter. And lastly, please be praying for and ask blessings over the city of Thessaloniki; Peter, Courtney, their 2 kids; Zoe Church; and our mission trip leaders David and Angie Rodriguez!

2nd, if it is at all possible, I would love to ask you to partner with me in funding my way to Greece. The $2,800 cost overall covers the expenses of my flight, food, passport, and my hotel accommodations, along with any international customs fees while enroute and in Thessaloniki. Since we are each responsible for raising all of the funds for our trip, any amount you are able to send here would be greatly appreciated!
