Mike is Sick!

The Odeen's Team is raising funds for one of our valued team members, Mike Hutton, who has been doggedly struggling with serious ill health for a while.

A few years ago he discovered he had a hereditary vascular disease that required a partial transplant from the healthy vessels in his arm to his leg. Late last year came the news that the procedure would have to be repeated and he underwent the complicated 6 hour surgery in Stamford only for the transplant to fail. Thankfully he was in hospital at the time, the doctors had to reopen his wounds and install an artificial vein system in his shattered leg in emergency surgery. A series of further complications have arisen as a result of the initial issue, and he now needs gall bladder surgery and a partial amputation of his problematic leg. All of this he has borne with his characteristic stoicism, good humor, and a complete lack of self-pity.

Mike is a master butcher, having trained since before he was a teenager in his native Holland and has worked across the world in food, hospitality and corporate development. He is a self-made man from the Old School and does not ask for anything - we are raising money to help him bear the burden of medical and living expenses and get him on the road to recovery.

We are asking our golfing and restaurant community to give generously to help one of our own out of a terrible predicament.
