#97Strong: Fight for Bobby Roundtree

In May 2019, University of Illinois defensive lineman Bobby Roundtree suffered a severe spinal cord injury in a swimming accident near his home in Largo, Fla. Bobby underwent surgery shortly after the accident in Florida and was then moved to the Shirley Ryan Ability Lab in Chicago. After nine months at the Ability Lab, Bobby has returned to the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana campus to take classes for the spring semester.
His care does require many additional services above what his student insurance will cover, including but not limited to physical therapy, occupational therapy, medical care assistance, specialty diet, transportation, and housing assistance. Funds from this account will be transferred into an irrevocable trust set up for Bobby, which will pay out all medical costs.

Bobby started 20 of 24 games during his first two seasons at Illinois (2017, 2018), earning honorable mention All-Big Ten honors in 2018. He was projected as one of the Illini's top players entering his junior season in 2019.
