97k for the 97 percent

After seeing a friend post about doing the ‘97 challenge’ I decided I wanted to join in as it is something I am very passionate about. Over April I will be running (although there will probably be some walking in there) 97k to raise awareness for the statistic that 97% of women between 18-24 have been sexually assaulted in the UK.  Any donations will be going to Rape Crisis England and Wales and will be greatly appreciated! 

I am part of this statistic and so is nearly every woman I know, and don’t know, this is so important to me as it shouldn’t be happening, and a lot of women expect it now. More than 70% of women all ages have been sexually assaulted and I want to help those who have been there or feel frightened, so they know they are not alone. 

I chose Rape Crisis England and Wales as it is a feminist organisation ran by women to help women and girls who have been through this and to raise awareness.
