As all of you hopefully know, I have been living in Montana for the past two years working with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in the Discipleship Training School (DTS) department. I have been a part of three DTS semesters. For two of the semesters I got to staff the three-month lecture phase and co-lead two, two-month outreaches to the nations of Taiwan and Cambodia. I also got to staff the lecture phase of a third DTS where I did not lead a team on outreach. During my time with YWAM Montana I have also gotten the opportunity to practically serve our community of 200+ people in the facilities and maintenance department as well as the kitchen for several months. God has done so many things in me and through me during my time here in Montana and it has been an incredible experience for me. YWAM Montana has helped me grow in my walk with Christ and also given me the opportunity to help guide students in their own walks with Christ. My time in DTS has also helped me realize that I have a passion for seeing young children rescued from the dark world of sex-trafficking. In the future I hope to be working closely alongside organizations with that same passion. With that being said, I believe that God is calling me away from YWAM Montana.
What is next?
I have been accepted into the School of Biblical Studies (SBS) in Sunshine Coast, Australia.
What is SBS? SBS is a nine-month course in which students study through each of the incredible sixty-six books of the Bible five times. An inductive approach is taught, in which students observe what the text says and then let it shape their beliefs. In these nine-months students study about God’s beating heart for the lost, their identity and fullness in Christ, and God’s plan of redemption for mankind.
Why SBS? During my time in Montana, God has continually put the nations on my heart. My call and part in the Great Commission is becoming more and more clear each season that I walk through. I have a stirring in my heart to preach and teach the word of God to the nations and I believe that SBS is the next step in that process. SBS will provide me with a great foundation in biblical knowledge so that I can help the Great Commission move forward and see the unreached, reached.
This is where you come in…
I need your help specifically in way of prayer and finances. The school runs from September 18, 2017 - June 14, 2018 and the cost of the school is $8,500 and I estimate the plane tickets will be around $1,500. My goal is to raise $10,000 for my time in Australia. I ask that you would prayerfully consider supporting me as I move forward with my dream of preaching and teaching the word, as well as, seeing young children freed from the bondage of sex-trafficking.
