PLEASE HELP JOSH RETURN TO US SAFELY AND ASSIST HIS BROTHERS, JOEY AND JOHN, WITH RAPIDLY GROWING FOREIGN MEDICAL EXPENSES!
As many friends of this family may know, Josh, Joey, and John have been vacationing in Thailand this month.
2 days ago, Joshua Bryan got into a serious motorbike accident. He was traveling too fast around a bend on the highway and skid out of control. He slid into the guardrail and underneath it. He was immediately rushed to Koh Samui Hospital in Thailand where they found that he had broken both of his femurs (legs) as well as fracturing his lower back.
He has undergone two surgeries so far where bolts and a metal plate have been implanted to stabilize his broken legs. He is in severe pain with limited access to necessary medicine. It is unclear as of now when the hospital will release him so that he may recover and travel home.
Joey has been by his side every minute, caring and nursing him, and sleeping on the floor next to his bed in the hospital so that he can help him through this whole experience. The hospital requires Joey to separately purchase all bandages, guaze, and meds that Josh needs during his hospitalization. Along with these expenditures, all medical care and treatment, including surgeries, has to be paid for up front prior to care. Additionally John had to handle all expenses from the crash including paying for the damaged motorbike and travel, alone equaling almost $1,000.
Hospital bills already total almost $6,000 after the surgeries and subsequent inpatient care. Every day the price continues to grow.
In order to prevent infection and to help with Josh's full recovery, the return flight from Thailand to USA will have to be moved foward, and Josh's seating arrangements will have to upgraded to 1st Class or Business Class so that he will have adequate room for transportation with his injuries and arrive home safely. Cost for this is a $250 fee to change flight, $2017.02 upgrade seat charge for a total of $2267.02.
Altogether we are trying to raise at least $10,000 to assist these brothers in this emergency situation that is increasing in cost every day. It is possible, depending on how long Josh is required to stay in the hospital's care, that medical bills along with other previously listed expenses could even total around $20,000.
Any funds that are raised and not used towards Josh's bills and needs will absolutely be returned.
These three brothers are family to many of us in various ways and all have shown us the strength and courage that bonds family together, especially in a time of crisis. Let's contribute in whatever capacity we can to ensure that Josh receives appropriate treatment and makes it home to Colorado, ensuring his speedy recovery.
All of us here in the United States and Josh, Joey, and John over in Thailand appreciate all donations and contributions.
Also, if anyone knows of other alternatives for travel/health insurance please contact me, Shayna Bionic (on Facebook), or let Joey or John know. I've searched to the ends of the Thai Healthcare System on the internet, but any additional options that may have been missed are definitely appreciated by everyone.
It takes 5-7 business days to withdraw money so there's some urgency to this campaign!
