Please Help Us Rebuild Our Home

Hi. We are the Hare family, Todd, Jeannine, Aurora, Trajan and Arwyn, and we are safe. 

Late last night, our house got burned down. 

We were woken up to sound of crackling flames and the smell of smoke. Running downstairs, we found the first floor quickly filling up with smoke and saw flames visibly burning outside on the porch through the window. Our front door was engulfed in flames and smoke was pouring into the house. 

Terrified, we ran to the kids bedrooms and pulled them out, relieved to find them safe. The whole house was filling up with smoke fast and the electricity had gone out. 

 We stumbled through the burning house in the dark and amidst thick smoke. We had to make our way to the only other exit in the house: sliding glass side doors. We managed to reach the side doors but despite our efforts, the doors wouldn't open, so we had to smash the glass and jump out to the grass in our bare feet and night clothes.  

Thankfully we all managed to get out safely. Unfortunately, we couldn't find our pug, Batman, who perished in the fire. 

We ran to our neighbours who called the fire department. The fire spread to the outbuilding next to the house where we kept our chickens, who all perished as well. Our van was close to the house and started to got damaged by the fire, but the keys were in the house and we couldn't move it. We live in the country, so although the fire department sped to us, by the time they arrived, the house was too far gone to be saved. 

We had to watch our entire house with all our belongings burn down to the ground I front of our eyes. 

When the fire department came, they were able to put out the fire on the vehicle and the chicken shed and miraculously the rooster was saved. 

We have lost every single thing we owned except the pyjamas we were wearing and the second car which was parked farther back. Todd blew his Achilles tendon and burned his toes while helping his family escape. 

We are reaching out for donations so that we may rebuild our house and buy the basic necessities once again. Unfortunately we didn't have insurance to cover any of the upcoming costs.
