Erin's son Colby came down with a rare bacterial infection that spread to his brain, resulting in seizures and other neurological complications. This led to emergency room visits and, ultimately, a lengthy stay in the ICU. Thankfully, his condition stabilized, and he was released from the hospital. Now, Colby requires assistance with daily antibiotic infusions, medications, and other coordination of his medical care.
