Hola! Soy Valery Pérez, músico orgullosamente venezolana de 16 años de edad, soñadora y amante del arte. Inicié en El Sistema a mis 4 años en el Núcleo Capacho, Estado Táchira, donde escojo el violín como mi instrumento y con el apoyo incondicional de mis padres, comienzo a escribir mi historia musical.

Desde mis 5 años me he formado en El Sistema, siendo parte de diferentes orquestas y ejecutando repetorio académico universal de gran envergadura. En el año 2017, ingreso a la Orquesta Sinfónica de la Juventud Tachirense Luis Gilberto Mendoza, orquesta Regional de mi estado natal a la cual pertenezco en la actualidad. En el año 2020 empiezo mis estudios en el Conservatorio de Música Simón Bolívar, cursando actualmente 5to Año. En el año 2022, fui seleccionada para formar parte de la Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional Infantil de Venezuela, una etapa muy importante en mi formación como violinista durante dos años, con quienes tuve el privilegio de participar en múltiples conciertos y dos giras internacionales, Ginebra- Suiza 2023 y Bogotá y Estados Unidos 2024. En el año 2024, fui seleccionada para asistir al encuentro “Voces del Futuro” que tuvo lugar en Bogotá- Colombia y consistió de una orquesta conformada por músicos de todo el continente americano.

En el mes de enero del presente 2025, realicé mi aplicación para asistir este verano a Interlochen Arts Camp, ubicada en Michigan, Estados Unidos, con la meta de seguir creciendo como violinista y con el sueño de seguir llevando y compartiendo mi música y mi cultura por el mundo. Estoy muy feliz y agradecida por haber sido aceptada, pero aunque gané una beca, la misma no cubre el campamento en su totalidad, los pasajes y el proceso de obtención de visa, y por eso, acudo a ustedes para cumplir este sueño. Estoy segura de que Interlochen será un lugar donde me brindarán muchas herramientas para seguir expandiendo mis conocimientos musicales y violinisticos y donde viviré experiencias enriquecedoras e inolvidables.

Hello! I am Valery Perez, a proud Venezuelan musician, 16 years old, a dreamer, and an art lover. I began my musical journey at the age of 4 in El Sistema at Núcleo Capacho, Táchira State. With the violin as my chosen instrument and the unconditional support of my parents, I started to write my musical story.

Since I was 5 years old, I have been trained in El Sistema, participating in various orchestras and performing universal academic repertoires of great importance. In 2017, I joined the Youth Symphony Orchestra Luis Gilberto Mendoza, the regional orchestra of my home state, where I currently play. In 2020, I began my studies at the Simon Bolivar Conservatory of Music, and I am now in my fifth year. In 2022, I was selected to be part of the National Children's Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela, a significant milestone in my training as a violinist. Over two years, I had the privilege of participating in numerous concerts and two international tours: Geneva, Switzerland, in 2023, and Bogotá and the United States in 2024. That same year, I was selected to attend the “Voices of the Future” meeting in Bogotá, Colombia, which brought together musicians from across the Americas in an orchestra.

In January 2025, I applied to attend the Interlochen Arts Camp in Michigan this summer, with the goal of continuing to grow as a violinist and fulfilling my dream of sharing my music and culture with the world. I am thrilled and grateful to have been accepted. Although I received a partial scholarship, it does not cover all the cost of the program, airfare and the process of obtaining the American student visa required by the program. For this reason, I am reaching out to you to help me achieve this dream. I am confident that Interlochen will provide me with invaluable tools to further expand my musical and violinist knowledge and create enriching, unforgettable experiences.
