Hello friends and family ❤️ I have created this fundraiser to help Sam and Isa through this difficult time.
On 7/10 Sam went to the Clinic to refill anxiety meds and the doc suggested a blood work test after he mentioned a lump on his neck. That same evening around 11pm he received a call from Fairview telling him he had abnormal blood tests and to get to the ER immediately for high calcium levels. The next day he had a CT scan where they found a large mass in his chest that surrounds his lungs and heart and traveled up to his neck. He was severely dehydrated when he arrived so they immediately hooked him up to fluids 24/7. His calcium levels was the root of all of his symptoms which was caused by the mass.
After days of testing, echos, blood work, CT scans and so on, they drained liquid from his chest area and biopsied the lump in his neck they figured out that he has Stage 3 Advanced Hodgkins Lymphoma.
Yesterday (7/18) he started his chemo journey that he will have to do for at least 7 months.
Just after one treatment session, 6 liters of fluid that surrounds his heart and lungs have been drained from his chest cavity. The build up was causing pretty bad breathing issues so they are leaving the tube in until Monday.
Sam is in AMAZING spirits. He has such a positive attitude during this whole process. He is so strong and resilient and the doctors have given him a great prognosis. They don’t expect any long term side effects, which is amazing ❤️
Obviously Sam isn’t going to be able to work for a while and they are going to need some help so they don’t fall behind on the mortgage for the house they just purchased together and household bills and the mountain of medical bills that will start to arrive. Sam just graduated 2 months ago from trade school as an Electrician but he was afraid to really get into the field because the anxiety and physical restrictions that the cancer caused prevented him from getting started. Anything that you are able to donate is greatly appreciated!
