Help the Davis Family Rebuild After Fire

Hi, my name is Antoinette, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my family during one of the most difficult times in our lives.

After living in Augusta, GA for over 10 years, we recently made a big move to South Fulton, Atlanta to be closer to family and start a new chapter. We downsized, packed up our lives, and settled into a new home with hope and excitement for the future.

Just one week after moving in, our joy turned into tragedy. As we cooked our first real family meal in the new kitchen, the stove caught fire. Within moments, the flames spread — and while firefighters were able to stop the fire from destroying the entire home, the real damage came from the water used to extinguish it. Our kitchen was destroyed, and nearly everything else in the home was damaged by heavy smoke and flooding.

We were completely blindsided to learn that the renters insurance — required by our leasing company — does not cover any of our personal belongings. It only covers damage to the property, not the loss of the things that made our house a home.

We’re asking for help to rebuild — to get our children back to some sense of normalcy, replace essentials, and find stability again.
