Hi there,
Sweet Sahara was found wandering the streets in October, and followed me home. Initially thinking she was simply lost, we were able to find that she did indeed have a chip and had high hopes that her owner would quickly reclaim her. When the owner was contacted, she did not want to assume responsibility for the cat (originally named Peaches) and Sahara was officially classified as a dumping case.
After her initial vet examination, Sahara was found emaciated with fleas, a UTI, ear mites, anemic and bleeding gums. With the continued help of Hyde Park Cats and Hyde Park Animal Hospital, we have been able to get Sahara back on track with her health and make she sure will have the best quality of life possible. She does, however, have severe dental disease and will need extensive dental surgery to remove her rotten teeth (some of which have already fallen out) and she is already on antibiotics and other medications to help resolve other infections she had acquired while living on the streets.
We need your help to pay for Sahara's surgeries. She is a very sweet, affectionate angel who came towards people to help her off the streets and we are working hard to get her the treatment she needs. Because she was found as a dumping case, we did not have the funds for these unanticipated veterinary costs and any contribution is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your help and support!
Best,
Sahara's new family
