Hello! As some of you may remember, I ran a fundraiser in January 2025 to help kickstart my journey into medically transitioning. I was astounded at the support I received - both financially and emotionally - and I am now doing better than I ever have!

However, on a less positive note, recent months have honestly left me scared for what the future holds for me and my trans friends. The UK government is on a quick decline in terms of protecting an already endangered community, and with the NHS recently cutting off patients seeking gender-affirming medical care, my only option for the next steps of my transitioning is the staggeringly expensive private option. I have known for years now that top surgery is a non-negotiable for me, and I feel that I am at a stage in my life where I am ready for the next step in my own gender-affirming care, even outside of the current political climate.

To simplify the purpose of this fundraiser: private surgery is going to cost me just over £10,000, which is a terrifying number for anyone, let alone a student. I am required to pay a £250 consultation, and half of the surgery payment immediately before the surgery, with the second half following the operation. I plan to go into surgery in the summer of 2026, leaving me plenty of time to raise as much money as possible. I will be running several fundraisers in the lead up to summer, including vintage sales, bake sales, and disco nights local to Falmouth.

Any donation, big or small, will go towards what could be the most important surgery of my life. Gender-affirming care is life saving medicine, and I am so lucky to have the emotional support around me for such a special moment in my life.
