For My Sister

Hi, I'm Dushka, and I'm fundraising for my sister, Nela.

Covid hit our family in early January, and it hit hard. My gentle and lovely sister Nela, a retired physician, spent four weeks in the ICU, in a hospital an ocean away from me. The first week, I couldn’t get through to get news, which was more than unnerving, it was terrifying.

We were more fortunate than many, and she was allowed home a few weeks ago. 

But she is facing months of expensive pulmonary and physical rehab, which is outside of what her insurance covers. The family and her friends are pooling resources, but we still need help to ensure she doesn’t lose or have interruption of her treatment.

This is why I have set up this GoFundMe—to ask a larger circle of friends for any help you can give.
