Help Susan fight Cancer

Our mother, Susan, is one of the kindest souls I have known whose presence sparks love and happiness in those around her.

 

If you know my mother, she is the first to offer help to her family, friends and even strangers, often putting others needs above her own.

 

Susan was a pediatric and surgical recovery nurse for over 40 years, providing patients with empathy and compassion. Still today, she is amazing at placing a painless IV! And most know, she loves a creative costume and there has not been a yard sale in history she hasn’t conquered.

 

Two months ago, Susan took a genetic test which resulted in finding a gene alteration increasing her risk of several cancers. Based on these results she found a rare but very aggressive growing lymphoma in her spleen.

 

The past month has been a whirlwind of travel, tests, procedures, biopsies, surgery and hospitalizations at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan. The care she has received has been amazing and we hope curative, however, her medical, travel and everyday costs have been growing and continue to grow.

 

Susan is about to start on her chemotherapy treatment plan. Any contribution to her Go Fund Me will assist in her medical bills, travel costs and daily needs here in NYC and help alleviate this financial burden so she can focus on her cancer treatment.
