Help Zara’s 2nd Surgery - Tail Amputation

Hi, I’m Alexus, and I'm reaching out to raise funds for our dog Zara's second surgery.

At the end of March, Zara's tail was accidentally shut in a car door, necessitating emergency surgery to amputate two inches. Sadly, she has been in significant pain and has been trying to chew on her tail, which has caused the stitched area to reopen, requiring another amputation. Normally, I wouldn't ask for help, but I’ve run out of options. Our family has been incredibly supportive, assisting with these costs, but I am reluctant to rely on them for yet another surgery. The first surgery, along with medication and visits, has already cost us $1,100, plus the $1,700 for the surgery that our family covered, totaling $2,800. Now, with the need for another surgery, we are facing additional expenses that we simply can't manage right now. The veterinary clinic has recommended that she consult a specialist, with costs ranging from $3,000 to $3,500. However, we are concerned about the potential health risks associated with amputating her entire tail, so we have opted not to pursue the specialist's advice. Instead, we have chosen to continue our treatment with the vet clinic, where we were quoted between $1,300 and $1,800 solely for the surgery.

We have just purchased a new house and sold our first one, which has stretched our finances thinner than expected. I understand it's a big ask, but even sharing this or offering kind words would mean the world to us. Our main goal is to see Zara healthy, pain-free, and receiving the care she deserves.
