We are Zoe, Jake and The Anchors, representing the Stratford Sharks in a coaches medley relay for charity.

Zoe and Jake are still fit, fast, and know what they’re doing. Penny and Sarah, meanwhile, haven’t raced competitively for around 35 years and are bravely proving that muscle memory expires sometime in the early 1990s.

This is a swim for charity, not glory. Expect heroic efforts from Zoe and Jake, “vintage” technique from the Anchors, and a medley held together by goodwill and panic. There may be muscle tears. There will be regret.
