Hello Everyone! I'm Davíd. I grew up in Bristol RI, otherwise known an extremely small town in the smallest state. I moved to the North Shore about two years ago now. I live with my loving boyfriend and his amazing family. I am very close with both my mom and dad, who adopted me from Quito Ecuador when I was just three. With a new lease on life, I want to live every day with as much drive and purpose as my parents do! I must give back to my community! So the past ten years, I've worked in non-profits, I've volunteered with the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and I have helped my dad run food drives in our home town. Now, I am studying at North Shore community college with the hopes of transferring to a four year school to study Law. This being my freshman year of undergrad, I have been accepted into the honors program, elected to Chief of Staff of Student Government, made the dean's list for the autumn semester, and I have been accepted into a work/study internship program in Washington DC for this summer! Through the incredible support and invaluable help of my honors adviser Dr. Magnolia, we have been able to meet almost all of my expenses for the program! I started at a principal amount for the summer internship program of: $7,725 I was awarded a partial scholarship of $3,500 Dr. Magnolia's friend in DC whom I have met, and whom I admire, Heidi has invited me to stay with her for the entire duration of the program. This allowed for a $1,200 drop of the price as well. The Pell Grant is covering $762 Out-of-pocket I have paid $750 The remaining balance is $1,513 So gofundme requires me to not make a cent less than I need, so I have rounded up to$2,000 to allow for this addendum. DC is my dream! And if there is anything I have learned about how wonderful a community is when we come together for a common goal! Is the amazing support we can give each other! And I can't put a price on what that means to me!
