My name is Carol Sobczak. I have lived in Carle Place for over 25 years. My husband Thom and I raised our 3 children here. We both dedicated much of our time doing volunteer work for our community, me as an officer of the several PTA’s serving the community.
Many of you know that my husband Thom died in 2022. I, with the help of my children, were able to maintain our house until this year. Unfortunately, the house was foreclosed on and sold at auction. I was forced to move out. 2 weeks before I had to leave my home, I was hospitalized. After spending 10 days in the hospital I was discharged and had to take a leave of absence from my job leaving me with no income.
I currently have nowhere to live. Thank goodness the one child still living at home had a friend who took him in. I will never be able to express my gratitude to the parents of that friend. My children are all safe. Only I have nowhere to turn. Since I left the house I have been staying in a motel. However, the money for the motel has run out.
All donations will go towards securing a place to live, travel to and from rental showings and food since the motel has no kitchen.
I’ve seen how generous my CP community always is. I’m blown away by our ability to come together and support each other. I am eternally grateful to be able to tell you all about my situation and ask for your help. I will be so appreciative for any amount you can spare.
