Just a month ago, our friend, teammate, classmate and neighbour Declan, was diagnosed with a brain tumour. He has since undergone a 14-hour surgery and started chemotherapy, and will soon need to spend a few months at SickKids in Toronto for treatment. Declan's friends, classmates, and teammates in the Dartmouth Whalers, UDFC and Dartmouth Bandits all miss his cheeky charm on the playground, ice, field and floor.

Declan's parents, Laura and Mark, have taken leave from their jobs to provide the round the clock support Declan needs right now, while also caring for Declan's little brother Conor and their elderly dog Flutie with a lot of help from family. We wish we could take away all of the hardship they are facing right now, but we're hoping to at least ease a bit of the financial worry.
