There are people in our community who are struggling hard -- on the brink of eviction, of losing utilities, of severe hunger, of children's birthdays with no cake or gifts -- even when the government is in operation. The loss of SNAP benefits in November, which is more than likely to last through the end of the year, will pull some of them under without help from extended family. Our goal is to raise $1K a month to give to community members in desperate need during the months when SNAP benefits are disabled.
