Hi Everyone! We are raising funds for James' rugby tour!

We're rallying behind James, a remarkable young man whose life has been transformed by rugby and the star* scheme.

When James first joined star*, a challenging home life with a backdrop of domestic abuse had led to academic struggles and limited prospects.

Yet, through rugby's transformative power and the support of star*, James has blossomed into a formidable player, earning a spot in the prestigious Bristol Bear Academy and a bursary to an independent school in Bristol.

James recognises the opportunity and support he has been given and volunteers at his local rugby club, collecting money on match days and helping coach younger year groups as well as acting as an ambassador for the star* scheme. Often putting himself way beyond his comfort zone.

Now, James has the chance of a lifetime: a rugby tour to South America with his school team in July 2024. However, this incredible opportunity comes with a cost that his family can't support him with.

During the tour, James and his teammates will spend three impactful weeks in South America, engaging in friendly matches, exploring local culture, and most importantly, giving back to disadvantaged communities. The team aims to raise funds for United Through Sport to support their cause of funding a minibus, benefiting communities like La Matanza in Argentina. This community faces severe challenges, including poverty, drug-related issues, and inadequate infrastructure.

This trip is obviously a nice to have but for James, it will further help his integration within his year group at school and provide him with an opportunity to experience something far beyond what he has so far.

James will be doing as much paid work as his spare time after school and rugby allows, to go towards the tour and already has some money but he will need at least £2000 in extra support.

Please donate whatever you can. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference in James's journey and will help him support more young people in South America

Thank you for your generosity and kindness.
