Hi everyone, I’m devastated to share that my kitten, Burt, was hit by a car Monday 4th of June . He’s only 10 months old, but he means the absolute world to me. For those of you who don’t know him, Burt is the sweetest, funniest, most loving little soul. In the short time he’s been in my life, he’s helped me through some really tough times and I honestly don’t know what I’d do without him.
After the accident, I rushed him to the Vet4Pets emergency clinic, where they sedated him and took x-rays etc. They suspect he has a skull fracture and possibly a tear near the top of his spine. They’ve done what they can to make him stable and comfortable, but unfortunately, they don’t have the specialist equipment needed to treat injuries this serious. He’s now been referred to a specialist hospital for overnight care, further scans and potential surgery.
As many of you know, vet bills need to be paid upfront, and time is critical. The first emergency visit cost just over £800. The estimate for the specialist care is between £5500-£15,000 (dependant on whether he needs surgery or not). I’m very grateful to have insurance that will cover up to £2,000 - hopefully, and have some support from family.
I love this little guy more than words can say, and I’ll do anything I can to give him a chance. If you’re in a position to help — even a small amount — it would mean everything to us. Thank you so much for reading and for any support you can give. ❤️
