Britt's Battle

Last December I was beyond excited when asked to be my best friend’s maid of honor. Over this last year it has been a whirlwind of wedding excitement for her. She was finally going to have her fairytale wedding. 

Four weeks ago we celebrated her bridal shower, which followed her first appointment at USC. After six months of mystery medical issues Brittany was referred to USC in hopes that they could give her some answers. I knew things has gotten serious when even they had no idea what they were looking at.

We were all shocked when she was diagnosed with stage 4b vaginal/cervical cancer at the end of July. The cancer had spread so far and fast that they could not be certain exactly where it all started.

When they say life can change in and instant, man, they weren’t kidding. As the weeks unfolded it seemed that the news kept getting more and more severe. The cancer had metastasized to the liver, and within two weeks of her initial diagnosis Britt would start her first round of chemo.

In what should have been an exciting few months leading up to her big day, she will literally be battling for her life. This chick is a fighter… she is one of the strongest people I know. Even in a moment that would have crushed most of us she has stayed positive and graceful.

Brittany is a longtime friend, a daughter, a finance, a sister, and most important a mom to an incredible little boy, Paxton. I know she is going to fight like hell… she’s going to show Paxton just how strong his mommy is.

Everybody has been giving advice, love, and support… and we thank them. But we are asking you to give her hope and relief. With unknown medical expenses ahead of them, we ask you to please help… any amount that you can see fit will be graciously accepted and forever appreciated.
