This book is an intimate and brave exploration of what it means to live with cancer.  Upon being diagnosed, Cynthia began writing regular updates to her community.  The book includes her reflections on daily life, medical treatment and the underlying sociopolitical realities of the journey. 

With support from a small team of friends, Cynthia completed the final draft of the manuscript just a few days before she died, when she let us know it was “done.”  Other than copy editing and formatting, the text remains the same as she left it for us.

After covering costs, proceeds from the book will go to Breast Cancer Action , CAARE Incorporated , SpiritHouse, and the Cynthia Brown Social Justice Memorial Scholarship at Bennett College. 

The book will be published by Words & Spirit in Durham, NC and should be available by early April, 2020.
