Hello!
My name is Dominique Whitley I am a 21 year old student attending IUPUI in Indianapolis Indiana.
I have made it all the way to my senior year of college while working my way through school. I am majoring in psychology and minoring in sociology and philosophy. During my first two years I was able to get a few grants through the school to help me pay for it, but the amount of money I was making from working to pay back the student loans I had to take out disqualified me from receiving anymore grants during my junior year. So I ended up having to pay more money out of pocket on top of having to take out more loans. I also no longer work due to the fact that me working was costing me more money out of pocket for school. Now that I am in my senior year I am looking to take summer classes so that I am able to also graduate this summer, seeing that I could not take the suggested amount of classes every semester due to working full time.
I am currently volunteering at Ustrive, where I assist highschoolers with the application process to get into college as well as answer any questions they may have. I also volunteer as a crisis counselor For CrisisTextLine where I assist the texters in finding a long term plan to help their crisis. After graduation I plan on becoming a substance abuse counselor and I have dreams of helping abroad as well.
I am just looking for a little help to pay for my classes, and be able to move closer to my goal of graduation. To pay for my summer classes I will need the funds by the beginning of May but I will gladly accept them anytime afterwards as well. I will greatly appreciate anything $1, $5, $10 it will all help.
