Nevaeh's Heart transplant Fund

Donation protected
Hi my name is Nevaeh and I am 14 years old. On September 28 2015 my grandmother took me to the doctor due to what we thought was asthma symptons, but after an xray and a helicopter ride to the Kaiser hospital in Los Angeles the doctors found that it wasnt asthma at all, but that it was my heart, and on that day I was diagnosed with Restrictive Cardiomyopathy and after living 14 years of what seemed to be a normal and healthy life I was told the only thing that will save my life now is a heart transplant. As of October 2015 I have been on the heart transplant list (list 2) and I am waiting for the perfect heart for me. Thankfully do to my size I am able to recieve a small adult doner or a teenage doners heart and due to my blood type I can receive either blood type which both give me a higher chance to find a match. With this gift of a second chance of life there comes many expensises that are not paid by the insurance... copays, and travel expensises to go to LA for all my doctor appointments like gas and lodging... and after my heart transplant my mom and I will have to live in Los Angeles for 3 months. This means my mom and dad will have to pay rent, bills and food for my 3 siblings at home plus lodging and food for my mom and I in Los Angeles and that doesnt include the extra doctor appointmens and the several new medications I will be on so my body doesnt reject my new heart. We hope that we are able to raise the money to help make this gift of a heart transplant go as smooth as possible for myself and my family. Please take time to consider donating funds to help me and my family in our journey.

Thank you,
Nevaeh Elizabeth Marquez

My story continues...

I am now 17 and I received my transplant on 7/5/17 and for a year and a half life was good, I felt healthy and I could do things I never could before... running long distances, rock climbing and hiking to the Hollywood sign just to name a few. Sadly on 12/27/18 I began to feel nauseous and since that is a red flag for transplant patients my mom took me to UCLA hospital. It didn’t take long for the doctors to figure out that I was in acute rejection and my heart was failing. After weeks of treatments and a month and a half hospital stay the doctors were able to stop the rejection, but the damage that was done to my new heart was irreversible and now only working at about 20%.., due to this I now am in need of another heart transplant. The news of another transplant was so hard to hear and devastating to my family and I, but I truly believe God is in this with me and my family and I have faith He will bring me through this with the end result of me having a healthy body and continue to be a walking talking testimony of Gods power and faithfulness. Unfortunately the other bad side effect of this news means a huge financial burden for our family and that’s why I am reaching out to all of you in hopes that anyone can help us. I’m so grateful that you took the time to read my story and consider to help my family through this financial hardship.
