Support Rosie's Emergency Surgery Fund
Donation protected
Our sweet Rosie Roo is our five month old Golden Retriever puppy. On Friday May 31st, Rosie was involved in a freak-accident and broke her back-left leg on the growth plate. Because of the severity of the break (“Salter Harris II Femoral Fracture”), she needs an emergency surgery from an orthopedic specialist as soon as they can get her in.
We were given the option of surgery to repair, as well as amputation. We feel based off the doctor’s positive advice and Rosie being a young pup, that she has a very high chance of recovery from a surgery to repair the leg.
We will have to travel out of state, as there are not any in our local vicinity. The official consultation and surgery date is set for June 3. From the emergency vet, surgery, follow up rehabilitation, etc, we were told to expect the costs would be $10,000 or more.
While we wait for surgery, Rosie is managing with the pain medication given by the Emergency Veterinarian. All of her X-rays show that there was no internal organ damage, and her blood tests yielded results that the Doctor was happy about. Rosie is a tough little girl, and we are so thankful she is still here with us.
Thank you for taking the time to read through this. Any donation given is appreciated immensely. All donations will go towards Rosie's medical bills and treatment.
