On Wednesday February 2, 2022, in an act of cowardice Tyler was stabbed in his right ribs . Luckily his friend Alex was able to get him to a hospital in time to save his life. In an emergency operation it is was discovered that Tyler’s liver and right lung had been punctured severely and as a result his right lung had collapsed and his chest cavity began filling with fluid and air; During the operation, Tyler had two large tubes inserted through his ribs, one

to inflate his collapsed lung and one to drain the fluid and air from his chest cavity. These tubes cannot be removed until Tyler’s lung heals and his chest cavity is completely drained so his lungs can function properly. Right now the doctors say this is their top priority and his lungs are being x-rayed 2x a day. This may be difficult to read, but Tyler’s injuries were severe and he is lucky to be alive.

Tyler’s road to recovery is long and there is still uncertainty on the severity of his injuries. He will likely be hospitalized for at least another week for respiratory therapy while his liver is being monitored; once the tubes can be removed and his lungs are able to function properly he will have to pass a physical to be discharged. It will likely take a substantial amount of time to

recover and require aftercare/ follow up visits due to the nature of his injuries.

Tyler is a beloved member of several communities and needs our support to ensure he is able to properly heal. It is unclear how long he will be unable to work or the type of work he will be able to do, and how much any required aftercare may cost. Anything you are able to givewill be greatly appreciated.
