In life, you get to meet a lot of people. Some are all the same, and some are just one of a kind. I met and hired John Callahan a couple of years ago to lead a plumbing crew because I knew he was a great guy. And when I met his family and his wife, I knew why he was so great. He has dedicated his life to his family, work, and church. John is the type of guy to show up first and leave last. He is what you call a company man and cares more than anyone I know.
Today, John and his wife Jackie found out she has leukemia. Jackie has been feeling ill the last few weeks but has been pushing through to work and provide for her kids. Jackie called John last night to take her to the ER, but being the dedicated employee he is, he told her he had to stay to get the job done. After he brought her to the ER, they found out this devastating news.
John called me in confusion and not knowing what he was going to do. I promised John that everything will be alright and we will stand behind Jackie and him to fight through this. John and Jackie’s one son, Jack, is autistic. They already have a lot on their hands working two full-time jobs and taking care of Jack. Now Jackie has a battle to face and they need all the support they can get.
John would give you the shirt off his back, the last dollar in his pocket, and the last drink in his cooler, always putting others first. Now it’s time to put John and Jackie first and help them get through this journey. I am asking for anyone to help pitch in and donate whatever you can. I know times are not the best, but every little bit can help. Let’s show John and Jackie that Karma is real and this is payment for them being such great people.
