On Saturday, August 13, 2011 Mike's life changed forever. While returning from introducing his mother and daughter for the first time, a distracted driver drove her SUV through a red light at full speed and t-boned his car on the passenger side. The impact killed his mother instantly and left Mike in critical condition. He was in a coma for over a month. It caused a major Tramatic Brain Injury (TBI), and has cost him about $200,000 in medical bills, and her insurance will only cover $100,000.
