All of us have much to be thankful for this Holiday Season. Yet there are others that are going through difficult times. We have one such family member that is facing a difficult time this holiday season. John is facing his 3rd cancer operation and will have his leg amputated above the left knee. John works at Nordic Ware and with his latest battle, will be out of work for quite some time. He will be facing large medical bills, and without a steady paycheck (no long term disability), will be struggling to meet medical bills, house payments and other normal living expenses.
Our brother Johnny has always been a fighter and always will be. Even the strongest person needs help at times. The type of cancer Johnny has is synovial sarcoma cancer Johnny’s cancer has consumed his life for 4 years and he has fought hard to keep his leg enduring all his pain. The first surgery he went through radiation and the doctor took half his calf muscle. Three years later it came back and the doctor removed part of his bone and two main arteries also he faced the second surgery not knowing if he was going to wake up with his leg or not. All the doctor could do to save his leg was to leave him with one arteries. Just enough to slightly lift his foot up because of that Johnny was not able to walk very well or feel his toes and his circulation in his foot was very poor. Johnny has also taken many falls because his foot would give away without warning. Johnny has broken his nose and badly bruised himself many times. After 10 short months his leg has taken to the cancer and it has come back aggressively. On December 1st 2015 Johnny had his leg amputated above the left knee. He will now be checked every 4 months to see if the cancer has returned. With all of that happening in Johnny life he has remained hopeful that it will all be over soon and he will be able to walk with a prosthetic leg and most important live a life without pain.
This fund is established to help Johnny during this time. We understand many have extra expense during Christmas and would like you to know there is no pressure here. Anything you have to offer would be greatly appreciated. If the spirit moves you and you would like to help a friend in need, we'd appreciate your support. All donations will go to help Johnny pay his bills, put a handicap ramp in, and make his home handicap accessible as he will be out of work for many months to come.
Thank you for taking time to read Johnny's story and consider him during this battle of his life. May God Bless You, Yours and Johnny this Holiday Season!
