although there's a big part of me that wishes I could quietly and privately have my procedure without shouting about it from the rooftops, I'm so grateful for what the necessity of asking for support has brought. It's felt scary and magical to ask my inner circles for their support, for their care, knowing I can't do this alone, and be continuously astounded by people's enthusiasm to show up for me, to be in more intimate community together as I ask for help and receive more than I asked for. Thank you. Asking for help, maybe particularly monetary help, is hard and discouraged, but so many in my community have reflected back to me "this is what we do". So here I am asking, emotional and grateful, excited and scared.

Imagine me cycling, running, and dancing along the sidewalks of our community in my new chest, laughing. That's the image I have been holding on to. Thank you for helping me get there.

As a plug, there is a new coalition of local progressive organizations formed that has started the Solidarity Fund in Maine that is in support of our immigrant and trans community neighbors for asylum seeking lawyer fees and support, gender affirming care costs. Any extra funds that I end up not needing will be sent that way. Please consider supporting their efforts as well.
