Help a veteran

Donation protected
I know a guy out in California, a 73 year old vet of the NAVY from the 1980's and 90's who's not doing too well. Most of his life he's spent helping other people, mostly his parents (but many others too), to pay bills and a couple of individuals to start companies, which once they got going he was no longer needed. Now there's no one to help him.
.
He's been out of work since 2005 and in 2007/2008 he developed colon-rectal cancer, spending most of 2008 with tests (colonoscopies and other invasive tests), operations, more tests (more colonoscopies), and months of getting over everything. But he survived.

In 2010 his mother died and left him with their property and $80,000.00 worth of debt. He was able to solve about $30,000.00 of the debt, but had to take out a bank loan on the home to pay off his mother's mortgage. The loan was for the remaining $50,000.00 and was a variable interest loan, which meant that the interest would be taken out of his only source of income, his Social Security. For the past ten years he has paid over $25,000.00 of his S.S.I. to the bank and he still owes the $50,000.00 principle.

He has never smoked and doesn't drink or take illicit drugs, but then, to make things worse, in April of this year he had a life threatening heart attack and needed to have 5 stints put into his heart's arteries to keep him alive. A call to 911 had gotten him a $2,600.00+ 5 mile ambulance ride to the hospital, along with $400.000.00+ six day stay in the hospital, and not having any medical insurance. Then, after he was discharged, he developed congestive heart problems and another 8 day stay in a hospital, this time a Veteran's hospital. And yet, he survived.

He lives alone with his pets (his next of kin lives in Texas) and all he wants is to be free of his debt to the bank, and to live his life on his meager S.S.I. (it took 11 years for his S.S.I. to reach $1,000.00 a month and that was by just 1 dollar).

So, if there's any people out there that can help this old NAVY vet, who has survived cancer and a massive heart attack, live a simple life until it ends, please help us help him.
