Let me introduce you to "Charley".
A soon to be 3-year old, fully lovable, and enthusiastic beagle pup.
"Charley" came to me as an adoption from a wonderful breeder about an hour north of my location. Bred for hunting, a genetic misstep caused the little fellow to remain just that....a little fellow.
He was unable to keep up with his siblings and needed a more suitable alternative for what could be his future life.
More than happy to ablidge, I brought him home and he and my other dog Cooper have become best friends.
....little Charley on his maiden voyage to new horizons....
As fate would have it though, as is common for breeds similar to his, he would be plagued with a ticking timebomb, otherwise known as IVDD.
Without going deep into medical detail, it's a disease that impacts the spine and vertebrae which causes pain and can lead to life long paralysis.
Right now, Charley is in the "diagnostic" phase, with Xray's confirming the condition and crate rest/medication management being the first course of treatment.
The possibilty of surgical intervention is high and is the primary reason for this GoFundMe pursuit.
The goal is to offset some of the financial pressure while keeping the faith for a postive long term outcome for Charley.
He's a fantastic little dog, full of energy and prone to the "zoomies", the least of which may have contributed to his present plight. No question it's time now to "slow his roll".
This will be an ongoing story - through the initial start of the page, to it's conclusion...whatever the outcome.
If you have it in your hearts to offer up any small amount, it will be placed in trust pending the Doctor's prognosis and the best way to move Charley's recovery forward.
Love, thanks, and best wishes in advance.
