Hi, my name is Becky Strait. I am donating my kidney to my dear, sweet friend Marie. Marie has been in kidney failure for a while now. Marie started out as a client of mine. (I'm a hairstylist). We clicked immediately and became good friends. I did not know about her kidney failure, until later on into our friendship because she did not want anyone to know. Marie did have a lady that tried to be a kidney donor, but through the lengthy process, she found out that she had a health condition that would not allow her to donate her kidney to Marie. That is when I told Marie I would give her one of my kidneys.

I have gone through all of the testing. I am a match and have been approved for surgery. We are just waiting on UAB to give us a date for surgery. I am self- employed and don't have the funds to support my time off. This would help to ease the burden for me and my husband and our large family.
