Equipment for blind son

I'm anticipating having to replace my son's equipment that allows him to participate fully in both church & school. The last time it was in for servicing we were made aware that his model is no longer being supported because it is outdated and parts are no longer being made for it. The Braillesense U2 is $5,595 and the case to carry this unit around with is $110 plus shipping costs around $45-50. I'm writing letters to organizations and seeking to raise this money anyway I can...that is legal of course. :) I know many love us and have offered to help in the past.
