Heart and Kidney Transplant

Hello, my name is Diana Hightower and I’m in current need of a heart and kidney transplant. In January of 1999, I gave birth to my son. Five weeks later at a doctor’s appointment, I was given medicine through an IV to help strengthen my heart. The medicine helped over time. After 18 years, my heart got better. I started back working and living a normal life. In November of 2022, I was having some shortness of breath, so I went to the Emergency room. I was again diagnosed with 25% congestive heart failure, and this time Stage 4 chronic kidney disease. In March of 2023, I had to get a defibrillator and a pacemaker. In May of 2023, my doctor informed me that I would have to have a kidney and heart transplant. The medication that I received the first time for my heart is no longer available, so that will not be an option this time. When I was employed, I had Blue Cross Blue Shield. I was able to keep that insurance for a while, but as of September 1, 2023, I no longer have that insurance coverage. Along with having to have a heart and kidney transplant, I will also have expenses from the transplant after care, evaluations, medications, appointments, and tests. There were different insurance companies that I inquired about, but being that the cost will be extremely high, I will not be able to purchase any insurance out of pocket. I am asking for financial help and support to help cover these expenses. No amount is too small, and everything that’s given is VERY MUCH APPRECIATED! I have some Amazing children and grandchildren that I’m fighting so hard to be here for. I’m also looking forward to one day returning to work and becoming active again in my Outreach Ministry.
