Support Jamie's Battle Against Cancer

Hi, my name is Steph. This fundraiser is for someone very important to me who has been my closest friend for many years now.

Jamie is an artist and floral designer who enjoys nothing more than making the world a more beautiful place. Her artwork has surely put a smile on your face if you’ve ever seen her in Artist Alley. With her flowers, she has brought comfort to many who suffer illness and loss. Now Jamie needs help from us.

Jamie was recently diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. It is a very aggressive form of cancer that has moved to multiple areas in the body, including bones and liver. She is starting chemo treatment and we hope for the best, but unfortunately the nature of this cancer is so serious that Jamie will need a great deal of care for the foreseeable future.

Jamie was getting ready for her wedding with Nick the same week they got the bad news. What was meant to be the start of their happy new life together in Canada became a time of worry and pain. We were still able to have a faux wedding put together by our lovely friends from Rappig Crossing to celebrate the happy couple, which are all the lovely pictures you are seeing.

But as we learned more about the state of her illness, in order to receive treatment, Jamie had to cancel the official wedding in Canada and return to her hometown of Mobile, AL away from her loving partner. They would like to visit each other as often as possible, so part of this fund is to assist with travel expenses.

She is being cared for by her parents, Randy and Cherie. Both are doing their best, but need our support as well.

What is important for Jamie’s recovery right now is dental work, since any infection in the teeth and gums can cause disastrous effects in chemotherapy. This can be very expensive even with financial assistance.

Jamie also needs comfort items like furniture and bedding, as well as food and toiletries.

Because the cancer is affecting the bones and nerves, pain management is essential. Jamie may not be able to return to work for quite some time, if ever. That is why a portion of these funds will be reserved for emergency savings.

Please consider donating if you are able, but even just sharing this as much as we can is also helpful and greatly appreciated. Any little bit helps. Jamie deserves to still live her life and eventually reunite with Nick permanently and comfortably. We can still help give her that chance.
