My name is Deanna Thomas and I am starting this Go Fund Me to support a preschool close to my heart ❤️ here in Portland, Jamaica. My mother-in-law, Janet Boucher, teaches at Spice Grove Basic School in Portland, Jamaica. She has 18 students in a one room classroom ages 2 and 3 years old. One of her students is my 3 year old niece! ❤️
Janet’s classroom is in need of supplies such as books, toys, crayons/markers/pencils,
notebooks, art supplies…all the things that help to create a rich and engaging learning environment.
The school needs support with renovating the playground equipment to make it safe for the young children in Janet’s classroom. They also need playground equipment such as balls, jump ropes, and other outside toys/games the students can use. A parachute would be amazing!
If we receive enough funding to hire a teacher’s aide for Janet that would be ideal so she has consistent help on a day to day basis. Managing 18 children alone is tough and you can imagine what that’s like when they are just 2 and 3 years old! Janet does an amazing job but more adult hands to help in the classroom would help to make instruction more differentiated to meet the varying needs of the students (and help for potty time is definitely needed!).

100% of all funds collected go directly to the school. Records will be kept of all donations and how they are spent and any donor may request to see these records at any time. We want you to know that truly every dollar you send will go directly to the school.
