I was spurred into action by a pay it forward that started with my little brother who won a car in a blood drive. He gave the car to his Platoon Sergeant, William "Eddie" McNeil, who has Leukemia and is currently travelling 4-5 hours for treatment in an old "beater" truck. I got to thinking that no gift won is "free" and hated that this young man with a wife and two small kids with so much on his plate is having to pay the tax, tag, and title fees on top of cancer treatment, gas, hotels, child care, and just the overall burden of this terrible disease. As anyone who as ever been in a bind knows, the smallest amounts can add up and make a real difference....and the kind words can carry you through the toughest times. Be the GOOD, take Action!
