Send Brad & Anna to RUF Assessment

Hi everyone!
We only have one more year left at Covenant Theological Seminary! I will be graduating in May 2017. We have absolutely loved our time here! We have grown so much in our understanding of the Lord and his Word, ourselves, and how to love and care for people well. Recently, the Lord has been stirring up desires within our hearts to pursue working with Reformed University Fellowship (RUF), the campus ministry of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). The first step toward Brad becoming a campus pastor is to attend the RUF Assessment in Atlanta this summer (July 11-14).
RUF Assessment is essentially an intensive, highly relational interview process developed by RUF to assess our gifts, personalities, and strengths and weaknesses in order to approve and recommend us for the best possible ministry placement for both the college campus and for us.
Having served as a full-time campus ministry intern for VFC for two years at the University of Tennessee (Knoxville) before coming to Covenant Seminary, I (Brad) am super excited about this opportunity! Because of our experience with VFC, we both have seen how pivotal a young adult's time in college can be. We are so excited to think of the possibility of the Lord using us in the lives of these students during such a crucial time in their personal development. The thought of the gospel taking hold of their lives during this crucial season is incredibly exciting, and we are already praying that, if the Lord desires, that he will use us to do this!
Not only does RUF provide an important opportunity to bring the gospel into the lives of college students, but we believe this will also provide a wonderful opportunity for us to grow and learn how to do ministry well. This 2 minute video shows Tim Keller speak about the tremendous benefits of RUF...
If we are approved, we will prayerfully consider any campuses that are recommended to us as a good fit.
As you can probably tell, we are thrilled about the possibility of doing this! So, would you prayerfully consider joining us in this first step of our journey toward bringing the gospel of Christ Jesus into the lives of college students? The cost of RUF assessment is $1500 (plus a little for traveling expenses and food), which we need to raise by May 13. All gifts will be greatly appreciated, whether you can give $25 or $100.
Our decision to raise support for Assessment is about more than just asking for money. We want to invite you to learn about, pray for, and support the work of RUF, because the Lord is using this ministry in some truly transformative ways on numerous college campuses. Investing in campus ministry is an extremely important and rewarding ministry effort which serves to disciple and raise up the next generation of Christians. Whether or not you can financially support us at this time, please pray for us!
Thank you so much for considering supporting us in this new endeavor! Please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions.
Joyfully in Christ,
Brad & Anna Owens
