Hello my friends!
At the time of this writing, my birthday is currently a week and a half away! I will be turning 27 years old!
I will let you in on a little secret... NEVER in my life would I think that I would have been so dedicated and so far along in my path to pursuing my goals at this age, yet... here I am.
Anyway, for my birthday I am asking for donations to purchase a new Desktop Computer Set-up.
Why a computer?
To be quite transparent, my laptop is on its way out the door. With the amount of work that I put it through, between running many applications on it daily, DnD on mondays, and now working on trying to get a Twitch streaming schedule going... its no wonder why my NON-GAMING laptop is starting to die, it was never meant to do so much work.
What do I intend on doing with this new computer?
There are many things that this computer will do and help me complete:
- Short Films - I will be able to run the proper software that will help me in editing RAW footage into some amazing short stories for you all. In some cases this does mean better quality short-form content on Social Media, and Long Form content in general on YouTube.
- Voice acting - I will be able to use the set-up to properly record and edit VO projects that I am auditioned for, currently cast as, or for my whims. This does play a part in the Short Films I will be making as well, but as an aspiring voice actor, this is a necessary separation between the two.
- Streaming - Streaming is a big one. I have been working diligently to learn OBS, make my own overlays, and get used to what it means to stream. The only thing is... I want to stream games of all kinds. From Video Games to TTRPG games with friends... But to be able to do that, I NEED a new computer. My current laptop will run a "Just Chatting" stream just fine, but anything more demanding and I'm afraid I will lose my laptop sooner rather than later.
What products am I looking at getting?
Listen... I am no expert on computers and I refuse to try and build one and risk irreparably destroying an expensive component. So I will be taking the safer route and going with a prebuilt computer. I have looked into a few different companies that Build computers and have decided on Computer Builders Anonymous for the Computer tower itself.
Computer Tower: Piranha Computer
- Alternative, if enough is raised: Wolverine Computer
Monitor: 2 Gigabyte 27inch screens
- Although, if I am able to raise enough, I would much prefer the Alienware AW3423DW ultrawide monitor
Keyboard: Logitech LIGHTSPEED
Headphones: Beyerdynamic DT 900 PRO X
There are several other items (like a desk, gaming chair, film/streaming camera, stream deck... etc), that I will not list here as I can upgrade my current set up later.
