Medical and living expenses for my dad

Update: My dad was in significant pain last night and decided it was time to go to the hospital. He's got a stomach infection and they are treating him with antibiotics. If the antibiotics dont work they will be discussing surgery for an ostomy bag to be placed. He's still in incredible pain so hopefully they can get him comfortable soon. Please keep him in your thoughts.

We just recently found out that my dad has stage 3 colon cancer. The medical plus living expenses have started to be more than he can handle even with insurance. He's starting to have to miss work cause of the nausea and pain. These last 2 weeks have really been a downhill slope for him with the starting of the chemo plus not being able to get what he needed from his insurance cause it's taking forever to approve things he needs. My dad is extremely stubborn and won't ask for help so this is really going to be hard for him to accept but it's came down to put that stubborness aside and accept what he can get at this point. They said that he will be on chemo for atleast 6 months to hopefully shrink these tumors and then he can go through radiation and surgery if everything goes right. They say he's at a point where it's still curable but it's gonna be a hell of a journey. We appreciate any advice also as he continues this journey. Thank you in advance!
